On the contrary. Assuming no "proof" is required (Vent, for example) it's somewhat easy to pose as the fairer sex. I did so for years in an online roleplay community, and was never called out on it. Hell, I still get people here on Guru referring to me as "she".
As for the topic at hand, it's an interesting idea. I'll be sure to mention it to my significant other--she might be interested.

I don't have an e-peen to wave around so unless something else comes up I will be there in support.
Normally I don't fall in stride with these type of events but girls really do get way to much ball busting in games... I don't have enough fingers to count on to indicate the amount of sexsist comments I have recieved... Normally I don't care but I know a lot of women get very upset by it. Our own guild even posted to the fact that they find it odd that females play GW let alone that we have about 5 in our guild and I think one member went as far as "I've never really thought about the fact that she is a female..."
I like being one of the "guys" but it will be nice to be one of the girls too if just for only an hour.

Guys are stupid.

I should tell my wife about this, she does have a GW account but she doesn't like it all that much, too many idiots in the game. This might change her mind.

<man slave 1.3k an hour no interest fees.
I think it's great females play to give some gender diversity to the game, I don't think I could stand all males and yes I play with girls..well girl constantly. I hope you have fun and that no one ruins it for you which I can almost guess that there will be someone there that read this thread. Not me I have better things to do.

The Villany of Galrath quest? That's not that big of a challenge, especially for a group of 8 level 20's. If you want a bit more of a challenge in Kessex Peak, go down there WITHOUT anyone having the Villany quest and clear out the mob you'll find, they'll level out the playing field a bit.
As for a Ladies only guild hosting a ladies only event? So what? My guess is that it's an effort at recruiting new members. Which is a heck of a lot more creative than sitting around town telling everyone how cool your cape is!

I have met quite a lot of ladies who play gw....most of them would love the opportunity to get together with more females to quest with.
I am a female, my hubby got me started on this addiction ......and have no problems with people wanting to get together to do stuff....like the mesmers who clean out the uw and such.....its sounds like a great time, however; I dont keep schedules to well with gw (I wont promise to be there....heck I dont even know about tomorrow let alone the weekend!).
and no I dont have vent.....but there are other ways to prove you are female than just your voice......

Many of the responses in this thread are exactly the reason why the OP started the idea.
It's a bit sad, actually.

Great idea for an event.
btw, not to be nitpicky but even listening to a voice on vent or teamspeak won't be enough to verify. there are programs out there to modify voice timbre and pitch.

I'm a girl gamer, and to be honest, I enjoy playing with guys more. Not because I'm trying to RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO my way through anything, but because they're funnier, more entertaining, and more easy to get along with.
Also, I agree with others - if you're gonna do a big girl group, do it with something challenging, not a PvE quest in Kryta [unless you're gonna do DNKP].

Too cool. I let my wife know about this, but I'm not sure if she's gonna be available. I think she likes the idea of meeting other women who play, though.
Not sure why anyone would be opposed to this. Oh wait, immature brats would. Yeah, that must be it.

Not sure why some posters find this event objectionable, but whatever. I'd like to participate because it sounds like fun, and as one of the few females in my guild/alliance, a chance to meet other girl gamers. I also would have preferred a more challenging mission, but that's not really the point of this event, is it?

The main purpose of this event is simply to have a gathering. The quest Galarth was chosen because we wanted to take it easy for a first event. It is without a doubt we will be doing more challenging areas for the next ones.

This is actually kinda amusing; I honestly didn't realize people would make such a big deal about something like this.
My guild, at least as far as officers, is split evenly, and I just made a woman the leader. Looking through the roster, I see at least 8 I am positive are girls and a few I’m not sure either way, but have never cared enough to ask. Most importantly, no one really seems to care, ignoring a few minor instances.
Does no one else have a similar experience?

I was in one guild, which was probably the best one I'd ever been in, where my sex was NOT an issue. I was the only female, but the guys never treated me as such. They treated me as a gamer, as an ele, as a pita. To them, I was simply Fem, the ele, who branched out into other chars.
I'm now leader of a guild that was started with one of the previous guys and his friends. We have 3 other females, and a couple of guys. No one cares about gender, just about gaming ability and having fun. I haven't had a lot of bad experiences, but they have happened.

Geez, so much talk over a simple post. Really, guys, you shouldn't get pissed every time girls want to have fun together. Don't you have get togethers with just guys sometime? Even outside the game? This is the same thing, just a get-together for girl gamers to have fun together ingame. No need to start bringing feminism and racism into it, because it has nothing to do with that.
I'll definitely try to come!
